Teresa Young has extensive experience in the areas of insurance defense, insurance coverage, and appeals.
Her insurance defense practice falls into the category of complex litigation, including class action/TCPA, business litigation, cyber liability and professional liability, as well as cases that contain intricate factual or legal issues. In her insurance coverage practice, she represents clients in complicated matters of all types, including directors’ and officers’ liability, underinsured and uninsured motorist coverage, and commercial general liability claims.
Teresa's appellate experience has been utilized by trial counsel at every level of litigation, from drafting dispositive motions and presenting interlocutory appeals, to drafting appeals and arguing their case before appellate courts. She is a co-chair of the firm's Appellate Practice Group, recipient of the Missouri Lawyers Media Influential Appellate Advocate Award and multi-year recipient of the Missouri Lawyers Media Appellate Attorneys POWER LIST.
A prolific presenter, Teresa routinely lectures to the insurance, business, and legal community on topical litigation issues in Missouri, insurance coverage matters, including claims and investigation practices, and the use of appellate counsel. She also serves as a member of the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee.
